The Facts About Rhinoplasty

What is a rhinoplasty?

In colloquial terms, a rhinoplasty is a nose job, though, to Dr. Diktaban, it’s more than a mere “job.” Dr. Diktaban approaches every rhinoplasty with several goals in mind, creating a nose that takes into consideration:

The goal of any good rhinoplasty is to ensure that your newly shaped nose works with, and even enhances, your existing features. Your nose should fit in seamlessly with your face, changing what you once considered a liability into an asset.

What can a rhinoplasty fix?

Men and women turn to rhinoplasty for several reasons, including:

Indeed, a rhinoplasty can correct many types of flaws, and the best way to find out whether your nose could benefit from surgical intervention is to sit down with Dr. Diktaban to review your goals.

How is rhinoplasty performed?

To reduce any evidence of surgery, Dr. Diktaban takes two approaches to your rhinoplasty, open or closed.

In an open approach, Dr. Diktaban makes a small incision along the piece of skin that separates your nostril.

When able, Dr. Diktaban uses a closed approach, which means that he makes the incisions on the inside of your nose, leaving no outward trace of the surgery.

How long is the recovery after a rhinoplasty?

After your surgery, you can expect to experience some swelling and bruising for several weeks after the procedure, which is completely natural. During this time, simply follow Dr. Diktaban’s post-op instructions and ice the area as needed.

When do I see results?

Once the swelling subsides, it may take several months for everything to integrate and fall into place. While you notice your results more readily after the swelling goes down, your body is still adjusting to the new shape, and there may be some very subtle changes over time.

Ultimately, recovery time depends on the extent of the procedure — some patients see final results a month or two after surgery, while it may take up to a year for others as their noses “settle in.”
