What is Rhinoplasty?
Rhinoplasty is a facial plastic surgery technique that improves the nose’s shape, size, and function so that it’s in better proportion with the rest of the face. It’s one of the most popular facial procedures available for men because it can greatly enhance the masculine profile with the right techniques. Dr. Diktaban not only specializes in facial cosmetic surgery, but also completed a residency in ear, nose, and throat surgery and is a leading rhinoplasty surgeon in Manhattan. Having undergone rhinoplasty himself, Dr. Diktaban has some of the greatest rhinoplasty experience in the area— and experience is key when it comes to achieving the masculine, sculpted results you want.
Rhinoplasty Candidates
Men who can benefit most from rhinoplasty are those who have a disproportionate nose or a nose that has suffered from an injury, causing difficulty breathing or an undesirable look. An effective rhinoplasty procedure can address both the cosmetic and anatomical functions of the nose, making it a good option if you have a deviated septum or anatomical concern that hinders breathing. In either case, you should be in good overall health and able to undergo surgery, so Dr. Diktaban will discuss your health history during your private consultation.
What Happens During Rhinoplasty?
Dr. Diktaban can perform your rhinoplasty at our state-of-the-art Manhattan office. Rhinoplasty can be performed using one of two different incision types, and Dr. Diktaban will discuss the right one for you during your consultation. Using one of two incision types, Dr. Diktaban can access the underlying structures of the nose, sometimes using VAPOR Nose® technology, and make your desired changes.
Closed Rhinoplasty
This type of rhinoplasty is most effective when paired with our VAPOR Nose® technology. It requires incisions within the nostrils so that any scarring is completely unnoticeable. Once the incisions are made, Dr. Diktaban can make changes to reduce a hump or straighten the septum.
Open Rhinoplasty
Incisions for an open rhinoplasty are made across the strip of skin between the nostrils, or columella. Dr. Diktaban also can utilize incisions inside of the nose within the natural contours of the nostrils. This allows the nose to be lifted for direct access to the underlying bones and cartilage which can be manipulated into a new, flattering shape. With this technique, Dr. Diktaban can perform more technical steps like cartilage grafts or more extensive correction.

Read MoreResults and Recovery
Rhinoplasty comes with a longer recovery than most facial cosmetic procedures, so it’s important to be ready to take downtime. Most men need at least one to two weeks away from work, but this can be longer if you work a physical job. You’ll experience bruising and swelling for around 5-10 days, which can be managed with prescribed medications. Dr. Diktaban will provide a list of aftercare steps, which includes avoiding wearing glasses, exercising, and blowing your nose. It can take a few months for most swelling to subside, but it can take several more months before you see your final results settle in. However, you can enjoy a more balanced, harmonious nose and a masculine profile with our best rhinoplasty techniques.
Rhinoplasty Cost
The cost of rhinoplasty varies depending on the extent of the surgery and how long the procedure takes. We also offer a variety of rhinoplasty techniques, including traditional rhinoplasty and VAPOR nose. To determine the exact cost of your rhinoplasty surgery, please schedule a consultation with Dr. Diktaban at his New York office. He will assess your nose and discuss your individual cosmetic goals to determine the cost of your procedure.
